Hey! I’m Angele and I’m the current Banner Chair for Alpha Xi Delta!

Being banner chair has been such a rewarding and fun experience. I’ve always been really passionate about painting. I was honestly super scared that when I came to college, I wouldn’t have any time to create art with all the new responsibilities. However, Alpha Xi Delta has given me the opportunity to continue my love for painting as an official position. With so much support from my sisters, I always feel motivated and excited to give the banners my all. It’s crazy how I scored such a perfect position in my first year and I’ll always be grateful for that.

Being an Industrial Design student, I feel like I’m always stuck in studio working on my projects, so being able to take a break at the Xi house and paint is super therapeutic. Designing the banners has to be one of my favorite parts of the process. Since I’m always sketching things for my product design classes, I can get really bored and burnt out when it comes to drawing things like speakers and hats. As banner chair, however, I have so much freedom when it comes to designing the layouts for the banners, which I love. Each banner just feels like a big art project for me, and I’m always excited to paint the next one.

I won’t lie, making banners is really time consuming, but I’m so grateful for my friends and sisters who are always down to help me out with the workload – I love you guys so much, and I wouldn’t be able to do it without you!
