Dear Best Friend... Love, Ashmita

Dear McKensie,

Oh man, how time flies! I can’t believe we are seniors...I still remember, like it was yesterday, when a few of us hopped on a bus to go to dinner at West Village before our member class sleepover. You know this already, but freshman me was super scared and intimidated by you. Eating our mac and cheese at Olive, I hardly looked or talked to you, but now it’s insane how much we talk and how great of friends we have become.

I love that we can sit in Alpha Xi, stuff ourselves with Taco Bell and Cookout, and talk about anything. Whether it be talking about how cute Walmart Yodel boy is, how delicious Tofurkey is, or even how Luke Combs is the best singer ever, I know I can count on you for rockin pow wow. You really are a firecracker of a friend in all the best ways and I’m so grateful this sorority led us to be friends.

Joining Alpha Xi, never would I have thought I would meet someone I mesh so well with. Separately, I think the two of us are different, yet I feel like we are so on the same page. I love that you check in on me, just to simply ask how I’m doing. I love that we can sing like no one is watching (when everyone is actually silently judging). I love that we can be vegan/vegetarian together. I love that we can laugh till we cry and even cry till we laugh. This is all definitely mushy and gushy, but I’m honestly just stating the truth.

I would like to say we have thrived these past few years with the bestest of friends in Alpha Xi and I really think Georgia Tech wouldn’t have been the same without them or you! McKensie, you are smart, confident, beautiful… and totally going places. I truly can’t wait to see where life takes you and I can’t wait to be your friend through it all.

Love you always,

Ashmita Totada
