Dear Fam... Love, Tessa

To my wonderful fam,

There are so many things to be grateful for as a result of joining Alpha Xi Delta, but my favorite by far is becoming a part of such a fun, loving, supportive fam. From the moment I saw that my big-little reveal costume was Taylor Swift themed, I knew I was in the right place. Although our “weekly” dinners may not be so weekly as a result of everyone’s busy schedules, I appreciate the effort we put in to see each other and I have so much fun when we are able to make it work. From just this year we have so many great memories together such as going to La Fonda, Hamilton watch party, eating together at the house, meeting up on Halloween, debriefing the Eras Tour, and much more. I always enjoy our time together.

Mackenzie,

You are the kindest, most fun, and welcoming great-grand big anyone could ask for. I don’t know where we would be without your lettucemeets and commitment as matriarch. Thank you for always being supportive and checking in with all of us. I am so happy I found someone to watch Survivor with on Wednesday nights and yes, I will be texting you during the seasons to come. Going to college was definitely a scary transition, but I was incredibly lucky to have someone like you to look up to. You have inspired me more than you know and I will miss you so much next year. Not to worry though, I know we will make a fam trip to visit you at grad school.

Katie,

I know you have been very busy this past school year, but I am so happy you made time for the fam. You have the sweetest energy and I love being around you. I appreciate our chats during the rides on mixer busses and while walking the trek back to North Ave. I also had so much fun being on the same team during sisterhood retreat (we won in my heart). Your stories always make me laugh and, selfishly, I hope to see still see you next year. But I know everything will work out for you the way it is supposed to and I’ve admired seeing you handle stressful situations so gracefully.

Laura,

I always have so much fun with you and am so happy to be in the same fam. You are so funny, nice, and easy to talk to. Thank you for letting me latch on to you during random outings and always making sure I am okay. I certainly will never forget the night that shall not be named. I know I can come to you about anything, whether it be needing support or just having a fun story to tell. You slay in everything you do and I want to be you. Cannot wait for whatever adventures the next years hold.

Lauren,

I could not ask for a better person to share a fam with. Thank you for being the person I can get food with on the weekend, curling my hair before formal, and sticking with me when we go out. I’m glad I have someone with whom I can share the occasional struggles of being out of state and long-distance and I also am so excited to share the experience of growing our fam together during big-little next Fall. You have the best vibes and I know we will continue to get closer and be there for each other during the next 4 years and beyond.

Jane,

My big, my mother, my angel, I truly do not know where I would be without you. We have so many amazing memories together and you embody what I always envisioned in a big. From the stories you told me during our bear-buddy date I knew that I would love to be your little and we would have the most fun together. Thank you for bringing me a care package when I was sick, supporting me when I cried, coming to my dance performance, giving me clothes for my tour guide interview, letting me nap on your couch, and always inspiring me. I have also loved exploring Atlanta with you, including seeing Piedmont Park, going to the aquarium, hiking, yoga, and our many Chipotle runs. It is so special to find a friend like you who I can both be vulnerable and have so much fun with. I look forward to the memories that will come from living in the house together, literally cannot wait!

Forever & Always,

Tessa
