Dear Best Friend... Love, Tiffany

Dear Ayala,

I always hoped I would find my best friend when I went to college but, I never believed that I would find my best friend as fast as I did. I met you during the first weekend of school and it only took a few weeks for me to start calling you my best friend. You are the embodiment of a best friend. You love and care about every person you meet. You never fail to make a person feel truly appreciated and understood. But, more than anything, you’re the one I go to for everything—whether I need advice, a study buddy, or just someone to lie on the ground with. You’re the first person I want to text about anything.

People say that the best friendships in life are ones where you can’t remember the exact moment you became friends, and that’s how it feels between us. I don’t remember exactly how our friendship started, but I do know that Alpha Xi was the reason. When I first became a member of Alpha Xi, I loved getting meals at the house but, I especially loved when you were already at the house eating because I knew exactly who I would sit with. From there, we started making constant PG1 runs, where you would study and I would talk your ear off. But that’s exactly how you became my person. Now I can’t imagine not having our Chicago and Rosemary adventures or our walks to the Amazon pickup locker. But most importantly, I can’t imagine college without you.

I wouldn’t trade this friendship for the world. I am so thankful to have someone like you in my life. You push me out of my comfort zone and support me in everything I do. We can go hours on end talking about life and I know I can always be myself around you. I can never thank you enough for the frequent check up texts and coming over just to talk. You truly are the hardest working person I know and I admire your determination and go-for-it attitude. I’m incredibly proud to be “Ayala’s best friend.”

I know that you are going to accomplish so much in the next three years and beyond, and I can’t wait to be by your side through all of it. This is so much more than just a college friendship; it’s a lifelong one, and I am forever grateful to Alpha Xi for leading me to you. I love you forever and I’m beyond lucky to call you my best friend.

With all the love in the world,

Tiff
