Top 5 Study Tips
The spring semester is back in full swing! As we get back into the routine of classes, studying, and exams, we’re sharing our favorite tips to succeed at Tech this semester!
Find the perfect study spot
Finding the right study spot is the key to being productive! If I know I have a lot of studying to do, the quiet floors of Crossland are the place to be. Plus it’s got easy access to Blue Donkey! On a nice day, the rooftop of the CULC is a great place to work and enjoy the beautiful views of campus.
Create a routine
With online and asynchronous classes it can be hard to plan and keep track of what you need to do! To make sure I never miss a class or assignment I plan out what I need to do for the week and which classes I need to attend. Having a schedule helps me to stay on top of every class, whether it’s in person or virtual, and never miss an assignment!
Make use of your resources
It’s important to take advantage of review sessions and office hours to make sure you fully understand all of the content you’re learning. Alpha Xi also has tons of resources to help our sisters succeed. Each sister has an academic mentor, an older sister with the same major, who can be a great resource!
Take breaks
Giving yourself breaks while studying is super important! Especially with online classes, it’s important to give your eyes a break from staring at a screen. I love taking a walk or meeting up with friends in the middle of the day to break up my study sessions. Then, when I come back from my break, I’m ready to work and am able to be more productive.
study with sisters!
Finding a study buddy is a great way to succeed in a class. If they’re taking the same class as you, you can help each other out when you’re confused and study for tests together. Even if you’re not in the same class, it’s always fun to spend time in the CULC with sisters who can motivate and entertain you while you’re working!
