All Xi Love by Sophia Abedi

Reflecting on my time at Georgia Tech, the consistent and recurring theme throughout my experiences and shared memories is the profound impact of Alpha Xi. I am deeply grateful for the connections I have made within our sorority and the lifelong friendships. The encouragement and support from my fellow sisters have empowered me to step outside of my comfort zone.

Upon joining Alpha Xi during my freshman year, I was immediately filled with gratitude for the unwavering support our sisterhood provides. An older Alpha Xi encouraged me to apply to FreshGA, marking my initiation into a freshman leadership organization. With the help of my sisters, I navigated various interview processes for student organizations, proudly joining a diverse array of campus groups. Serving as the President of several organizations has afforded me the opportunity to make a positive impact on campus and I am grateful to have been encouraged by my sisters throughout everything that I have done throughout my time at Tech.

Studying abroad through the Oxford program was a transformative experience, allowing me to explore different countries and embrace new challenges. I cherished the shared experiences with friends from other sororities, emphasizing the true essence of sisterhood and friendship. A special shoutout to Panhellenic love! During my time abroad, I appreciated the chance to connect with fellow Alpha Xi members who were also exploring the world during the summer.

Alpha Xi's unwavering support has extended beyond campus life, influencing my internships and even providing the opportunity to live in DC with another sister. The connections and memories created with my sisters remain invaluable. Participating in the Georgia Legislative Internship Program (GLIP) was a pivotal moment during my time in school, offering my first exposure to state government and politics. Subsequently, receiving the Federal Jackets Fellowship opened doors for internships in Washington, DC, where I served as a legislative intern in both the US Senate and US House. This semester, I am interning at the Georgia State Capitol for Troutman Pepper Strategies, and I continue to rely on Alpha Xi as an incredible support system. After a day of work, I can always count on my sisters to provide a listening ear, offering support, sharing laughter and enjoying each other’s company.

With all XI love,

Sophia Abedi
