Dear Best Friend... Love, Laura
Dear Abbie,
I’ve never been more thankful that Brown Residence Hall’s faulty plumbing made you move to west campus. I look forward to every long walk to the house or to class where we talk about everything from the weather to the stresses of life. You always know what to say in every situation. You are an amazing listener even when it's the fifth time I’ve told you the same story.
From you helping me write job applications to telling me what pictures to post, you always give the best insight. I’ve never felt embarrassed or annoying when I talk to you. You make me feel included and loved. You push me out of my comfort zone and help me explore new hobbies without judgment, like when you somehow convinced me to play beach volleyball with you hours before our formal. Even though we lost both games, it was one of the most fun days at Tech, all thanks to you.
You have a drive that I admire. Always working to be your best self. Every day I strive to be a little more like you: caring, compassionate, persistent, and so much more. You make me a better person, and I can’t thank you enough for it.
I’ll be forever grateful to Alpha Xi and west campus for bringing us together because I truly couldn’t envision a better friend. I love everything about you. Never change. Even though I haven’t even known you for eight months, I know I’ll have you in my life forever. I can’t wait to buy your book when we’re older because you know I’ll support you in everything. I’m excited to watch our kids play together and be able to have your advice on hand.
Thank you for all of our Moe’s dinners, drives around Atlanta trying to find Panera, long walks back to west campus, song recommendations, and for being a light in my life. I love you more than you could know.
