20 Things Georgia Tech Students Need to Do Before Graduating (Bucket List!)
Tech Student Bucket List!
1. Use a meal swipe at the West Village Starbucks
Pro Tip: This is the only Starbucks on campus that takes Meal Swipes!
2. Study on the CULC Rooftop
An absolutely GORGEOUS study spot when it’s nice out - and always pretty quiet. I spent so many hours up there this year doing homework/ studying!
3. Eat at the Tech Square Waffle House
4. Ride a Bird
but PLEASE - do NOT ride it down Freshman Hill! Every single person on campus has seen someone or known someone who’s taken a nosedive right on down the hill.. just warning you now!
5. Watch the Mini 500 during Homecoming Week
This is the most hysterical of Tech’s traditions - it’s a team trike race around Peter’s Parking Deck.
6. Grab coffee from Blue Donkey (bonus points if it’s before an early class or final)
7. Stay to the very end of a football game and dance to The Horse
Just trust me on this one!
8. Go to Midnight Breakfast during Finals
Professors volunteer their time to serve their students breakfast food during finals - it’s an amazing study break!
9. Get on the Jumbotron at a Basketball game or Football Game
10. Put a penny on Sideways the dog’s grave during Finals
It’s good luck!
11. Run (or walk) the Pi Mile 5k (held in honor of Pi Day!)
12. Touch the Ramblin’ Reck at the end of freshman year
But don’t touch it before you finish freshman year!
13. Refer to Graduation as “getting out”
14. Pet a dog on Tech Green
10/10 it will brighten your day
15. Watch the sunset from the top of the library (Crosland Tower) with your friends (bonus points if you watch the sunrise!)
The top floors of the library are for quiet studying - and also have an incredible view of the Atlanta skyline as well as the sunsets/ sunrises and all of campus.
16. Eat an omelette from one of the dining halls
17. Order Insomnia Cookies or Tiff’s Treats
18. Walk the Atlanta Beltline/ go to Piedmont Park
19. Wake up at 5 AM to run in the freshman Cake race
It’s tradition!
20. Go to Yellow Jacket alley on Gameday
It’s early, but worth it! Go support your Cheerleading, Goldrush, and Marching Band friends before the football game!
